So recently I was telling someone I have a blog, but never use it. I said I don't have anything to say. She suggested talking about animal welfare and rescue. At first I dismissed it, thinking it would be far too depressing to deal with so frequently. However, the more I thought about it, the more I want to do it. I post stuff to my facebook, my twitter, my plurk... why not have something dedicated?

So over the next few weeks I will be revamping my blog to this effort.

Joann's at Lunch = Mistake

Please note: This post is not anti-Joann's or anything. It's just my experience for the day.

So today I decided I was going to Joann's during my lunch break, and then get food if I have a chance. There is a pretty big store near my work that I like to go to, as opposed to the tiny thing by my house. I wandered around, picked out my fabrics and headed to other cutting counter.

There is usually no one really there.

Usually.

Today must have been "Get-Your-Fabric-at-Joann's-By-My-Work" day. I got in line while they were on customer 88 or 89 (I forget now). I pulled number 95. Ok. I can be patient. I liked the fabrics I picked out. Well there was one woman doing cutting, another (oblivious and clueless) woman helping someone on the phone, another woman just flitting about, and a final woman who seemed to only be handling a large piece of foam. 20 minutes later I decide I need to get back to work. They were on customer 91.

So long busy day at work. No actual lunch. But mainly, no new fabric. :/

That is my not-so-exciting story that I felt compelled to post. lol

It pains me today that I am working on an ad for a pet groomer. Last time I added a burst about puppies being available. This time, Persian kittens. For one, this seems like a shady bit of side business and I would not take my pet there to be groomed. I would love to sneak something in about adopting a rescue kitty.

For those that do not know, I work for a coupon magazine. I cannot decline working on an ad. Although, even though it's not something I totally agree with content-wise and such, I LOVE to get all the animal ads. :D

I have been meaning to post about this, but never got to it before now. If you don't know me yet, you will come to learn that I am, as my husband puts it, one step away from being one of "THOSE" dog people. However, I don't think it is absurd to help someone save their beloved dog. This dog has a very treatable illness, but the treatments are costly. Please help Atlas get better!

Our beautiful rescued pit bull Atlas was recently diagnosed with a transmissible venereal tumor (TVT). This type of tumor is rare in America, and the doctors think she was used as a breeder in a less developed country before she was dumped here in Los Angeles. TVT is highly responsive to chemotherapy, and Atlas has a great prognosis for full recovery. Unfortunately, each weekly chemo treatment costs $250, and we are struggling to pay for Atlas' care. If you would like to help save the life of a deserving dog, please purchase a handmade "Save Atlas" button; all proceeds will be donated directly to Atlas' medical bills. We appreciate your support!
